Lion Cub, Masai Mara Kenya

This cub is about 5 months old. Lions become sexually mature at around 4 years, live between 10 and 14 years (females live significantly longer than combative males) and after 110 days gestation have up to 4 cubs per litter.

Home to the Boma, Masai Mara. R.I.P. Madiba.

Masai cattle heading home at dusk in the Mara North conservancy. Livestock densities are set as per agreement with the resident Masai in an attempt to set a balance between wildlife for tourism and traditonal Masai 'wealth'.

Yellow Winged Bats, Masai Mara Kenya

I was lucky to spot this cluster of three Yellow-Winged Bats as we drove through some scrub in the Mara. They are a type of 'leaf-nosed bats', insectivorous and preferring the sort of semi-arid scrub-land I found them in.
