Lake Nakuru Cape Buffalo- Rift Valley, Kenya

The water level in Lake Nakuru, as in most all the Rift Valley lakes, has risen by at least 3m (10ft) within the last 18 months. Levels continue to increase with Lake Baringo reaching levels last seen in the 1960's.  This Buffalo is using a submerged road to get across a new arm of the lake.

Baby Elephant- Amboseli Kenya

One of this year's crop from Amboseli. More than 200 births have taken place within the Amboseli herds over the past 8 months- an amazing increase over the previous (much drier) years.

Long-Tailed Cormorant- Lake Nakuru, Kenya

A Long-Tailed Cormorant on it's typically long take-off run. These diving birds are on the heavy side, partly due to the absence of water-repellant oils in their feathers. You can't dive very well if you repel water!

Mara Lions- Kenya

Where are all the Gnus? They are arriving from the Serengeti & crossing into the Southwestern part of the Mara now. Soon the grass will be cropped short in this area- the northern end of the Mara Triangle.
