Red Collared Widowbird, Masai Mara Kenya

This splendidly-feathered male Red Collared Widowbird changes back into it's plain short-tailed brown plumage (similar to female's year-round colours) when not in it's breeding season.

Seasonal Wildebeest Movements, Masai Mara Kenya

The Loita Hills Wildebeest and Zebra population moved into the Mara Triangle in search of pasture during this recent dry season. River crossings were rather undramatic for the most part as water in the Mara River was only knee-deep. This photo was taken mid March.
