These five-foot tall Herons roost in trees overnight. We had the dubious honour of hosting one above our tent at
Island Camp, Lake Baringo last weekend, and it was a particularly noisy bird- providing the best imitation of a hippo I've ever heard: hreeeeeee, hrump! hrump! hrump! hrump! A most unusual bird call, and I strongly suspect it actually WAS imitating a hippo- there's plenty in the lake.
