Masai Giraffe, Masai Mara Kenya
We often use giraffe as 'spotters' to find the big cats. They will will
stand still for ages and gaze at predators from their lofty vantage
points- pointing directly at whatever is of interest. You rarely see a
giraffe in a hurry!

Lion Honeymoon (5), Masai Mara Kenya
Post-coital relaxation... for another 15 minute's break. Females invariably roll over like this immediately after the act.

Lion Honeymoon (4), Masai Mara Kenya
Like many cat species, the lion's penis has backward oriented
spines which causes a painful ovulation stimulus for the female, so it is theorised.

Lion Honeymoon (3), Masai Mara Kenya
This won't take long.... but the act is repeated every 15 minutes or so throughout daylight hours for two or three days, and go without eating during this time.
