Great Cormorant, Lake Baringo Kenya
A Great Cormorant dries it's wings. Unlike most
waterfowl, cormorant feathers are not oily and they don't repel water,
allowing the cormorant to dive freely underwater in search of fish.
However, they must dry off before being able to fly easily again.

Silver Backed Jackal, Masai Mara Kenya
The Silver-Backed Jackal- AKA Black-Backed Jackal is monogamous, usually
seen hunting in pairs, and as a species is considered quite ancient
with little morphological change all the way back to the Pleistocene
which ended some 12,000 years ago. Goes to show; if it works well, don't
evolve it!

Green Grass.... Over There; Masai Mara Kenya
Wildebeest are taking note of this rain, and will likely be heading
toward it as if magnetised to the fresh green grass that almost immediately
appears in it's wake.

Wildebeest Crossing the Mara River
A hasty exit from the Mara river- all wet and glossy. I've never seen a
count of just how often an individual wildebeest crosses the Mara
river in an annual migratory cycle, but I'd guess it's between 10 and 20
times, depending on rainfall patterns from year to year. The grass
often IS greener on the other side.
