Ol' LongTusk- Amboseli Kenya
This old fellow is the lead bull in a bachelor group of 7. He has an exceedingly long & thin left tusk that would seem to interfere with grazing at times. The right tusk was probably broken in a fight some years ago.

Cormorant, Lake Baringo Kenya
A Lake Baringo Cormorant. I've always wondered how they catch fish in the turbid waters of this lake- underwater visibility must be no more than 4 inches. Cormorants are plentiful though, so they've obviously got the ways & means!

Rain over Amboseli, Kenya
Big cloud, little rain. It's isolated showers like this between rainy seasons that keeps many of East Africa's plains game dashing from one 'green-up' pasture to another. Wildebeest are well known for being able to sense green-ups from many kilometers away, especially just after grass fires have passed through a region.

Belly rub- Amboseli Elephant, Kenya
This big old tusker spent quite some time on the neighborhood rubbing tree near Tawi Lodge in Amboseli & managed to get to pretty well every bit of hide except his back.

Acres of Wrinkles- Amboseli Elephant.
Black & white photos can really show texture.... and this elephant looks like it could use a bit of re-hydration.

Chameleon- Nairobi Kenya
The Jackson's Chameleon lurks inconspicuously in the undergrowth of the Croton/Brown Olive indigenous forest of my back yard.

Ants tending Aphids- Baringo Kenya
Caught these tiny ants tending their herd of microscopic aphids on an Acacia tree seed pod in Baringo. Amazing what's goin' on if you look closely.....
